CAM COUNTY INC was formed in 1978 by members of the Roadrunners Inc., which is based in Seatoun, Wellington. The original founding members included Ray & Alison Cox; John Coulter (RIP); Ned Coulter; Chris Lee; Harry (RIP) & Teresa Bradknock; Frank & Elaine Boyd; Geoff Lowe; & Phil Foothead. They all lived in the Hutt Valley and found the traveling was having a negative effect on the enjoyment of their hobby.

The first meeting of the club was held at John Coulter’s house in Stokes Valley. Initial ideas were thrown around and the name “Cam County” came into existence. Below are some very early pictures taken in the first few years of the clubs existence.
